Green Stuff / Kneadatite

On one of my multiple trips to Paradigm Infinitum (also called PI, I swear that place increases my happiness meter), I decided to purchase the infamous Green Stuff Epoxy. Here’s a picture of the tube:

It’s simply blue and yellow epoxy that, when kneaded together, can be sculpted and cured within a few hours. It’s also called Kneadatite, and is apparently cheaper when ordered through that name. But the easiest solution was to purchase it from PI (it’s approximately $30 SGD for 100g).

However, I have since found other sources of epoxy – the hardware/provisions shop in my neighbourhood sells Bondite (see picture below). Apparently lots of Malaysian miniature enthusiasts use this, and it’s cure time is shorter but it’s also much cheaper. A pack like the one below costs $4.50 SGD.

I’ll probably use bondite for gap-filling and filling bigger pieces. Perhaps I’ll also try mixing green stuff with bondite to get less of an elastic effect! We will see.

Other sources include miniaturemarket.com, which sells several types of green stuff / brown stuff for cheaper (after discount) as well. Black Friday is coming up on 28th Nov 2013, so try to get into that sale if you want to try it for cheap!

Note: miniaturemarket.com doesn’t provide free international shipping. I have a tonne of things I want to buy from there so I’ll post something when I figure out what’s the best / cheapest way to get my stuff shipped over. If you have recommendations, do comment!
